Colony Corp was an interesting project, the idea was to create a solid concept for a colony management simulator, where a group of colonist have to survive and thrive in a hostile planet environment. A small narrative was created in order to build a solid foundation for the art to develope on. Where a couple of naive colonist working for a despot corporation are sent back to a hostile planet to create a mining colony to extract resources resources. Knowing it is a quite niched genre, the approach was to create the visuals for them to be appealing to a broad audience, focusing on even though yes its a hazardrous environment, things are still quite cute and friendly looking.

In this project I used heavily the new features of Shapelab a VR sculpting tool, really good for quick mockups, nice for modeling & texture painting. Then to send it to blender to improve the shading, light and create a better quality render, to then send to photoshop for final touches.
